LibGuides – a source for Research help

At the University of Rochester, we use LibGuides to host our help pages for researchers. Our students use Blackboard for their courses, and every course has a link to a LibGuide, so our students are never far from getting the help they need. I like to refer to my LibGuides as a “Librarian in a Box” so that even if it’s 2 a.m., there’s some guidance for the next thing to do. One feature is that students can make appointments just by clicking on the “meet with me” button: it brings up my calendar availability, so they can find a time that works best for them. There’s also a live-chat button when I’m at my computer, so they don’t have to wait for an email response. Below is one example, but you can find all my guides here.
